As climatic conditions appear to be taking a turn for the worse, the sun is increasingly burning, pollution from the environment abound. We are no longer certain about the purity of even the air we breathe. Conditions warrant that we review our personal care regimen for any possible modifications if we want to live healthy for longer.

More businesses are investing in the almighty sunscreen for more protection against the sun than before. Gone are the days when sun screen was generally perceived as a staple for only light skinned people. Melanin skinned people often claimed natural immunity to sunburn but truth be told, melanin does not protect the skin from the rays of the sun. It is not like it is some form of shield. We know it now that even dark skinned people are susceptible to sun burn.

It is of utmost importance these days to have that precious sunscreen lotion quite handy even in small tubes for the handbag or purse. Sunscreens are designed to act as a skin shield against the harshness of sun rays and environmental pollution. Many have also seen improved complexion with continuous use of sunscreen.

Many a time, we dark skinned people think it pointless to apply sunscreen when we already applied our regular skin cream or lotion. It appears to be to much work but hey, why worry? Isn't it better to do the extra work that is required to protect your skin from damages? When you think sunburn, premature wrinkles and other skin conditions as a result of harsh weather conditions, you wouldn't hesitate to dig out that sunsreen tube. After all you are solely responsible to your skin.

When purchasing that sunscreen, bear in mind that the higher the SPF the better. The intensity of sun rays these days calls for higher protection I must say. Earlier on, SPFs were in a maximum of 15 but recently they are as high as 50 and above. This in itself could tell a lot about the changing climatic conditions worldwide.

Once you are able to get into a routine with the sunscreen, it no longer seems like a lot of work. Sunscreens have no skin colour specifics. Give one a try today because your skin is your responsibility.

How do you manage with your skin outside your home especially on sunny days? Leave your comments.
